School of Open Learning (SOL), a unit of Delhi University (DU) is leader in offering university education through distance learning mode. This unit of the university was established in 1962. Earlier, its name was School of Correspondence Courses and Continuing Education. In the first academic year more than 900 students got enrolled in different courses offered by the SOL and thus a new era of education kicked off in India.

School of Open Learning offers various under graduate and post graduate programs in arts and commerce discipline; both, Hons. and General / Pass courses are offered. The degrees acquired from SOL are considered equivalent to degrees acquired from regular colleges; one may apply for job or may go for further studies. The curriculum taught is same as that of regular colleges.

In order to provide education to students in larger numbers and provide adequate support to learners School of Open Learning (SOL) has established another center in South Delhi; two more centers are proposed in East and West Delhi. SOL has dedicated faculty members in main campus to help students.

SOL Fees

The fees structure of the School of Open Learning (SOL) Delhi University is much lesser, when compared to other colleges in DU. Student already enrolled with Delhi University, also get exempted from paying Rs. 200/- as enrollment fees.

SOL PG Exams

The School of Open Learning Delhi University conducts two examinations at the postgraduate level, one at the end of each academic year (viz. Part I at the end of the First Year and Part II at the end of the Second Year).

The School of Open Learning, Delhi University conducts three examinations in the undergraduate level. One at the end of each Academic Year, viz. Part I at the end of the First Year, Part II at the end of the Second Year and Part III at the end of the Third Year for all Undergraduate Courses
